The ionicity of cationic polyacrylamide

The ionicity of cationic polyacrylamide is a very important indicator. The higher the ionicity, the denser and larger the impurity flocs formed in sewage treatment. Cationic polyacrylamide is mainly used in industrial sewage and municipal sewage with negative charge. Before being used, cationic polyacrylamide should be dissolved into an aqueous solution by the ratio of one thousandth. After the polyacrylamide solution is added to the sewage, it quickly reacts with the impurities, so that the water and the impurities are separated and precipitated. Then it could be put into the mud pressing equipment for sludge dewatering.

The two major indicators of the quality of cationic polyacrylamide are ionicity and molecular weight. The molecular weight refers to the length of the polyacrylamide molecular chain, and the ionicity refers to the density of charges, that is, the number of charges on the polyacrylamide. The ionicity of polyacrylamide affects the compactness of its flocs, which is closely related to the treatment effect. Under normal circumstances, the higher the ionicity and molecular weight of cationic polyacrylamide, the better the quality and the higher the price. But it does not mean that the higher the ionicity and the molecular weight, the better the treatment effect.

Cationic polyacrylamide of 10-20 ionicity is mainly used in cabinet pressure desliming machine.

Cationic polyacrylamide of 30-40 ionicity is mainly used in crawler-type deslimers.

Cationic polyacrylamide of 50-60 ionicity is mainly used in high-speed centrifuges.

In order to obtain a good treatment effect, we need to select the product with the most suitable  ionicity and molecular weight through experiments.
