Local time on September 5, 2016 in Maputo, Mozambique, Joao de Abreu, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Bureau of Mozambique, presented three pieces of suspected Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 at a press conference.
In the early morning of March 8, 2014, the wave of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 with 227 passengers and 12 crew members disappeared on the radar screen. The passenger plane was originally scheduled to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, but it lost contact with the tower about 40 minutes after taking off.
Prior to this, the outside world had been speculating that the passenger plane crashed in the southern part of the Indian Ocean. However, after multiple rounds of search and rescue operations, the crash site has not been determined. Nearly 17 months after the disappearance of MH370, there were suspected airliner wreckage and broken luggage on the beaches of La Reunion, Indian Ocean, France; Mosambique and Mozambique also found debris belonging to MH370.
The official action to find the wreckage was suspended in mid-January 2017. In early January 2018, it was reported that after the Malaysian authorities allowed individuals and organizations to search for wreckage, the Malaysian government agreed to cooperate with the Ocean Infinity Exploration Company of the United States to resume search work.
The Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority's Azaruddin said earlier that the "unlimited sea" search operation is likely to end in June.
