Mid-Autumn Festival

September 21th, 2021 (August 15th in the lunar calendar) is the Chinese traditional national festival, which is Mid-Autumn Festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Autumn Festival, August Festival, Moon-cake  Festival, Moon Festival, Daughter's Festival or Reunion Festival, is a traditional cultural festival in China and some other Asian countries. The festival falls on fifteenth of the month, which is exactly the middle of the autumn, hence the name. There are also places where the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on August 16th.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, uses the full moon to signify the reunion of family. Families get together to express their familial love by eating dinner together, appreciating the moon, eating mooncakes, etc. The harvest moon is traditionally believed to be the brightest of the year. The Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Spring Festival, and Ching Ming Festival are also known as China's four traditional festivals.
