TerribleTsunami in Indonesia
In September 28th, an earthquake in Indonesia (0.25 degrees south latitude, 119.90 degrees east longitude) triggered a tsunami. Communications and traffic in the epicentre of about 300,000 people, Dongjala County, were still interrupted during the strong earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi Province. According to the Indonesian national anti disaster department, as of today (October 3rd), the strong earthquake and tsunami have killed 1407 people.
According to the Indonesian national anti disaster department, about 17000 people have been evacuated to safe areas. The evacuees include some injured persons who need further treatment and some local tourists. Today, a military plane carrying about 200 people evacuated from Palu to Wangjaxi, capital of South Sulawesi province.
